Beekeeper Lego taken from Talent’s tiny park

Talent Garden Club and city of Talent officials are asking for the return of a small but important feature of the city’s new tiny park. The beekeeper Lego was a gift from Allie French, executive director of Talent Maker City, to the city of Talent, and was placed in the tiny park at its unveiling last week. The gift has gone missing from the park enclosure.

Council inclined to let voters choose where food and beverage tax funds go

Some weighty decisions await Ashland voters this fall regarding who’s the boss of city parks employees and, probably, on where money raised by the city’s food and beverage tax is spent. The majority of Ashland City Council on Tuesday agreed to let voters decide this November whether to let City Manager Joe Lessard oversee all city employees or keep it the same. Councilors also voted to direct city staff to bring back a dual referendum to let voters decide whether a portion of or all of the city’s 5% food and beverage tax should go to parks.
