Words of encouragement and confirmation have arrived from an inner dimension at certain points throughout a long life

I was 4 years old in 1953 and we had just moved from the Croatian settlement in Kansas City, Kansas, to a suburban neighborhood in Bethel, Kansas. My younger brother and I shared a room with twin beds, a dresser with four drawers, two curtained windows and room for some toys.

One morning I had gone into the bedroom to get something to play with in the bottom of the closet.

As I stood up and closed the closet door, I heard a “voice,” even though I was alone. The voice was not in the world around me, but very loud and clear inside my mind. I knew it was not my voice or the voice of any family member. The voice caused me to stand up straight, pause and listen. It was so dramatic that I can journey back to that very moment. I was wearing beige pedal pushers and a white top, was barefoot, and my hair had just been brushed after the hairpins were removed from the pin curls. The brown closet door loomed over me as the sun was shining in upon its dull finish. The bedroom door was not quite shut. And the temperature was warm.

It felt like I entered a frozen kind of state, unable to move while the voice spoke. Exactly at the same moment, I heard the wisdom of the voice; I was given a vision. The voice clearly said, “You are a dot in God’s tummy. We are all a dot in God’s tummy.” In my mind’s eye, a huge ever-expanding circle appeared with an infinite number of dots. I stared with my inner eye, not realizing what was taking place but feeling the validity of what was shared. Even though it was not familiar wording, something felt very peaceful in my whole body, as if the puzzle of the universe was solved. And lo and behold, I was shown my own personal tiny little dot.

It was the second time the voice spoke to me. The first time was when I was perhaps a year or so younger. I was doing something assisting my younger brother. Suddenly, the voice interrupted what I was doing to tell me, “You were born to help.” I remember thinking with my child’s brain that the voice was telling me what I already knew, because I was helping my brother at the time! Of course, I took it in a literal way and years later realized the voice was confirming the purpose of my presence in this life.

Throughout my 74 years of life the voice has made itself known at certain junctures in my journey where nothing else could have settled me or guided me in the direction most advantageous to serve the highest good. At this time on the planet, when trust seems to be replaced by fear and anxiety, I remind myself to listen inwardly and trust that inner peace that comes with a voice beyond my physical reach but so present within my spiritual reach. May we find more trust in our daily lives from within that inner dimension that knows, whatever you wish to name it. Different names, same energy and presence.
