Jobs With Justice Christmas dinner brings hope and cheer to 200

A holiday meal Friday afternoon in Ashland brought hope and cheer to those in need. Southern Oregon Jobs with Justice held its annual Christmas dinner Dec. 20 at Ashland Presbyterian Church, bringing together nearly 200 individuals in need, many of them unhoused. The event offered a traditional holiday meal alongside tables filled with donated clothing, supplies and gifts.

Proposed Interstate 5 wildlife overcrossing receives $33M federal grant

The planned wildlife crossing project near the Oregon and California border in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument is set to receive more than $33 million from the Federal Highway Administration. It will be the first wildlife overcrossing for Oregon and the first for the entire stretch of Interstate 5 between Mexico and Canada.

Figure skating performance Saturday at First Frost

First Frost, a family friendly community skate event, is set for 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink, 95 Winburn Way, Ashland. The evening begins with a Southern Oregon Figure Skating performance from 4 to 4:30 p.m., followed by open skating with music by DJ Tuffshed.
