City to unveil new mountain biking trail in Ashland

Weekends are for mountain biking, and if you happen to be in town on Saturday, the city of Ashland has announced the unveiling a new mountain biking trail. Named Wasabi, a “spicy flow trail”, the Rogue Valley Mountain Bike Association, Ashland Parks and Recreation and the city of Ashland have issued an open invitation to stop by and celebrate from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20.

Ashland vote count update shows Food & Beverage Tax measure slipping further behind

With a couple hundred more mailed ballots as of a vote count released Friday, May 19, by the Jackson County Elections Office, none of the four Ashland contests showed any significant change.Tallies for Measure 15-214, the only close contest, showed “no” votes with a 49 vote margin, 3,525 (50.35 percent) to 3,476 (49.65 percent), up from a 40-vote difference.
