Working toward a more fire-safe Ashland

Public can register today to hear report from Ashland Fire & Rescue Division Chief Chris Chambers

The public can hear a report on how Ashland is working to create safer communities and healthier forests. Chris Chambers, Ashland Fire & Rescue Wildfire Division Chief, will provide the update via Zoom starting at noon Thursday, Feb. 3, as part of the Rotary Club of Ashland’s weekly program.

This presentation will focus on the use of proactive wildfire planning and best practices for restoring a healthy forest in the Ashland watershed and the responsibility of every citizen to prepare themselves and their homes for inevitable wildfires as the climate warms.

Anyone who would like to virtually attend the meeting can register by emailing their name and phone number to rotary.ashland@gmail.com. Registration is due today, Wednesday, Feb. 2.
