SOCAN to offer 10-week course on climate change

Weekly classes will be held from 6-9 p.m. Mondays starting Feb. 6 in Medford

Southern Oregon Climate Action Now will offer a 10-week comprehensive course on climate change and its societal effects, according to a news release.

Classes will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays starting Feb. 6, at the RCC/SOU Higher Education Center, 101 S. Bartlett St., Medford.

Topics covered in the series will include the basic science of climate change, alternative explanations for the warming trend, energy, human health, and climate justice.

Enrollment is limited to 20 participants and costs $100 per person. Scholarships are available. Visit https://socanmcp.eco or email ellie@socan.eco for more information.

A-Line, a 1-mile, machine-built jump trail boasting 50 jumps, a 40-foot gap and a beginner-friendly track. The project is being hailed as a potential game-changer for Ashland’s outdoor tourism.
