Notice is hereby given that on March 11, 2025, the Ashland Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing at 7:00 p.m. at the Ashland Civic Center, 1175 East Main Street for the following items:

SUBJECT PROPERTY: 231 Granite Street

DESCRIPTION: A request for a Physical and Environmental (P&E) Constraints permit to construct a new single-family dwelling in steep slopes greater than 25% within the hillside overlay area, including exceptions to the hillside design standards. The proposal includes a Type 2 variance due to the proposed driveway grade exceeding 18%. The applicant also requests a tree removal permit to remove 67 trees, 63 of which are between 6” and 12” Diameter at Breast Height (DBH), 8 of which are dead, and 4 are significant trees which are larger than 12” DBH. The public hearing will be televised on local channel 9 or channels 180 and 181 for Charter Communications customers or will also be available live stream by going to rvtv.sou.edu and selecting RVTV Prime. Those wishing to submit written comments can do so by sending an e-mail to PC-public-testimony@ashlandoregon.gov with the subject line “March 11, 2025 Hearing Testimony” by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Written testimony received by this deadline will be available for Planning Commissioners to review before the hearing and will be included in the meeting minutes.
Oral testimony will also be taken during the electronic public hearing via Zoom as well. If you wish to provide oral testimony during the hybrid meeting, please send an email to PC-public-testimony@ashlandoregon.gov by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
