Dr. Frank Romano will discuss the fifth edition of ‘Love And Terror In the Middle East’

A Middle East peace activist and author will hold an event focused on a new edition of his book from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Bloomsbury Books, 290 E. Main St., Ashland, according to a news release.

Dr. Frank Romano, whose efforts are primarily focused on Israel and Palestine, will speak about the fifth edition of “Love And Terror In The Middle East.”

The book “dramatically captures my efforts to promote understanding and cooperation between Jews, Muslims and Christians,” Romano said in the release. “I’ve been harassed/arrested by the Palestinian police, harassed/arrested by Israeli soldiers and attacked by Israeli settlers.”

The fifth edition also includes a new chapter chronicling Romano’s experiences in 2018 attempting to block Israeli forces from demolishing a village in the West Bank. A USA Today story says Romano was arrested for his efforts, imprisoned in Jerusalem, and later deported to France, where he was a professor at the University of Paris.

The first two people to arrive at the book discussion will receive a free signed copy. Free refreshments will also be available.
