The Amigo Club of Ashland hosts a community fundraiser in support of the upcoming 60th anniversary of the Ashland–Guanajuato, Mexico, sister city relationship on Saturday, Aug. 16, at The Historic Ashland Armory. The evening will feature live music by Salsa Brava, free dance lessons, and a selection of tapas and beverages, with proceeds supporting people-to-people cultural exchange between the two cities.

The Amigo Club brings the community together to honor six decades of friendship, exchange, and collaboration. Recently, Ashland and Guanajuato renewed their sister city commitment at official ceremonies in both cities. This event offers a lively, inclusive way for residents and supporters to participate in the legacy of our relationship.

Attendees can look forward to a high-energy performance by Salsa Brava, one of the Rogue Valley’s most popular Latin bands known for packing the dance floor. A complimentary dance lesson will kick off the festivities, welcoming beginners and seasoned dancers alike.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the Historic Ashland Armory, located in the heart of downtown Ashland. Organizers encourage families, friends, and supporters of all ages to attend, dance, and contribute to a lasting legacy of international friendship. Early arrival is recommended for the dance lesson and to secure preferred seating.

The Amigo Club of Ashland is a volunteer-led nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the sister city relationship between Ashland, Oregon, and Guanajuato, Mexico. Through scholarships, cultural exchanges, and community events, the Amigo Club promotes mutual understanding and lasting connections between the two communities.
