Letter: Support Joe Davis for Circuit Court Judge

April 23, 2024

I recommend Joe Davis for Jackson County Circuit Court Judge (1st District, Seat 5). He is a highly experienced, competent and fair judge. He is deeply committed to the well-being of all communities of Jackson County.

Joe grew up here and earned his law degree degree from the University of Oregon following his graduation from Northwestern University. With a quarter century of law practice handling a wide variety of cases, Joe is well-positioned to address the diverse range of matters that emerge in our county. He is a judge pro tempore for the Jackson County Court system.

In addition to his competence, I greatly admire his integrity, commitment to equity and patience while ensuring that cases move through the system in a timely fashion. Joe’s love of our region is seen in the scope of his community service as a volunteer leader on area boards such as the Medford YMCA, the Alba Exchange Program, Living Opportunities, and the Center for Non-Profit Legal Services.

His devotion to youth development is revealed in his service as a judge for local, regional and high school debate contests. Among Joe’s core interests are reducing drug and alcohol addiction and mental illness to enhance people’s health, productivity, and quality of life. We would be well-served to have Joe at our county’s Circuit Court bench.
