Southbound lanes remained open near Siskiyou summit

A semi that rolled over and caught fire closed Interstate 5 northbound near the top of Siskiyou Pass Friday afternoon, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation and Ashland Fire & Rescue officials.
ODOT first posted about the incident on tripcheck.com before noon Friday. By Friday evening, the lanes appeared to have reopened, according to ODOT road cams, but no official updates had been issued by ODOT. The closure area was between northbound mileposts 1 and 8.
Ashland Fire & Rescue Wildland Division Chief Chris Chambers had said the semi driver was OK and that the fire was put out.
