Former OSF musician, SOU professor to perform variety of songs

Solo guitarist David Rogers will perform from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at La Baguette Music Café, 340 “A” St., Suite 2, Ashland, according to a news release.

Rogers will present a variety of songs, including Spanish and up-tempo Latin, the Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Rolling Stones, Roxy Music, Cheap Trick, and Carla Bley songs, music by J.S. Bach, and some original compositions. He will also tell stories and jokes about the music during the performance.

Donations will be accepted.

Rogers, who worked as a full-time musician for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for 18 years and taught at Southern Oregon University for 13 years, has also been featured in a number of guitar magazines, and on radio programs including NPR and Germany’s Bayrischer Rundfunk.
