With Oregon’s goal of 100% clean electricity by 2040, developing new renewable energy sources is critical, and offshore wind is one of these potential sources.
Dr. Bill Gorham, a member of the SOCAN board of directors, will update us at the SOCAN general monthly meeting on the status of Oregon’s floating offshore wind effort. The meeting will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Medford library, 205 S. Central Ave., Medford. Dr. Gorham will also discuss concerns raised by tribes, fishing groups, and local residents, and how those are being addressed.
SOCAN meetings are free and open to the public.
