Recology, Ashland’s contracted waste and recycling collection service, has announced a change in curbside recycling rules effective Tuesday, July 1, according to a post on its website.

Crater Lake National Park’s superintendent, Kevin Heatley, resigned from overseeing the park, citing cuts to the park’s staff. Since January, Heatley has seen Crater Lake’s permanent workforce cut in half, and onboarding seasonal staff was delayed by a month. “Things are not OK,” Heatley told OPB on Monday.

The Bear Gulch Preserve, an ecologically significant 142-acre complex of forests, grasslands, canyons and creeks near the Oregon-California border, has been purchased by the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy (SOLC).

The Oregon Senate will soon take up House Bill 3532, which would have the Oregon Geographic Names Board make a list of places with offensive geographic names within three years of the bill’s passage and determine new names in consultation with local governments and tribes.
