Ashland man indicted on sex abuse charges

Police believe there may be more victims

A 64-year-old Ashland man was indicted today (Jan. 18) on a pair of sexual abuse charges involving a 14-year-old boy, the Ashland Police Department announced in a news release. Police believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with more information to call them.

Frederick Mark Hutchinson was also indicted by the Jackson County Grand Jury on a charge of felony delivery of marijuana to a person less than 21, in addition to the first- and third-degree sex abuse charges, according to the release. 

Hutchinson actively “groomed” his victim, for months leading up to these crimes before his arrest on Jan. 13, police said. He’s still in Jackson County Jail. Bail is set at $150,000.
