Smoke may drift into Ashland in the evening hours for a few days

The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest will be managing a controlled burn on behalf of the Ashland Forest Resiliency Project that is expected to bring smoke into Ashland in the evening hours starting Thursday, Nov. 30, and possibly into the weekend.
The burn will begin today and continue into the weekend as crews manage fire damage in the Ashland watershed. The burn will be located above Reeder Reservoir along the Winburn ridge, according to a release from the forest project.
During the day, smoke may travel up into the watershed and impact trails. In the evening, smoke is expected to settle in Lithia Park, the downtown area, the dog park and streets around Ashland Creek, particularly Oak and Helman streets.
