Attendees can look forward to skydivers, smokejumpers, airplanes and more

The Ashland Municipal Airport’s annual Airport Day celebration returns Saturday, June 7, according to the city of Ashland website.
The event, held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 403 Dead Indian Memorial Road facility, is free to attend and open to the general public. Parking is also free, the website says.
The event’s offerings include:
- Skydivers
- Smokejumpers
- The Ashland Robotics Club
- A ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum presentation
- Radio controlled plane exhibition
- Airplanes on display
- Food trucks
- Children’s activities
- Drones
The city of Ashland owns all the airport land and buildings except for the hangars on the field’s northeast edge and the Sky Research Hangar. Established in 1965, the airport boasts 34 hangars, 120 tie-down spaces and about 85 based aircraft, according to the airport website.
