Troops 112 and 8112 to hold event Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4

Ashland Scout Troops 112 and 8112 will hold their 64th annual Christmas tree sale Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4, in the Elks Lodge parking lot, at the corner of Lithia Way and First Street, according to a news release.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, the release said. Fundraising proceeds support troop activities throughout the year.

Available farmed trees will be 6 to 8 feet tall, with locally cut trees as high as 12 feet. Mistletoe, decorated holiday wreaths, hot chocolate and coffee will also be for sale.

The following month, both troops will join Cub Scout Pack 112 and the Ashland Lions Club for a tree recycling pickup event, held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023. It’s the 36th year the troops have recycled the trees, which are chipped and used in parks throughout Ashland, the release said.

Participating residents should have their trees curbside the night of Friday, Jan. 6.

Troop 112 started in 1915 and is the oldest Scout troop in Oregon, the release said. They have been holding the tree sale since 1958.
