Letter: ‘Improve the quality of life for Oregonians’

October 18, 2022

Today I helped Denise Krause with her door-to-door canvass in Medford. She is running for the position of Jackson County Commissioner, opposed by Rick Dyer, who is running for a third term. Then I was a participant in a Zoom session with Tina Kotek, running for governor and supported by Senator Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts.

The connection between Tina and Denise is important. First, both are your best bet to make local and state government put forth and carry out policies that improve the quality of life for Oregonians.

Second, if you have Tina Kotek as governor and still have a commissioner who doesn’t want to work with Salem, you will miss out in many ways. You need Denise Krause in office. She will work with Salem and the other local jurisdictions in our area in a way not seen presently.

The policies that Tina articulated, in a grounded way, fit well with the priorities of Denise. They may not always see eye-to-eye, but what an improvement over our current condition. But that only happens if you get the word out, offer whatever support you can, and for sure return your mail-in vote with a check mark beside their names.
