In person gathering set for this evening, Thursday, Sept. 22, at Temple Emek Shalom

After a two-year hiatus, The Hearth will gather in-person at Temple Emek Shalom in Ashland to celebrate the release of “Between the Listening and the Telling: How Stories Can Save Us,” a book by The Hearth’s founder, Mark Yaconelli.

Yaconelli will tell stories alongside community members Danielle Mancuso, Mandy Yeahpau and Marni Koopman. Free champagne, sparkling water, homemade shortbread and other treats will be available along with music facilitated by Duane Whitcomb and friends.

Everyone will have an opportunity to get a book (no matter their income level), organizers say. A $10 donation at the door goes to support Hearth scholarship programs.

“This night promises to offer hope and healing in a time when all of us feel overwhelmed,” according to an event announcement.

The gathering is set for 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Temple Emek Shalom, 1800 E. Main St., Ashland.
