Payments can be made online or at kiosk at Ashland Civic Center

Ashland utility customers can expect September billing to be delayed by one week, and the closure of the city’s utility billing office until further notice, according to a news release issued by the city of Ashland Monday afternoon.

A staffing shortage at the city is prompting a closure of the customer services utility billing office in City Hall at 20 E. Main St. in Ashland. The closure is effect until further notice. Customers will not be able to make payments at the office or meet staff in person to pay their utility bills at this time.

Payments can be made online (selfservice.ashland.or.us/MSS); mailed to 20 E. Main St., Ashland OR 97520); or dropped off at the City Utility Payment Kiosk at the Ashland Civic Center at 1175 E. Main St., next to the Ashland Police Department office. The kiosk is available 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

To make a payment at the kiosk, customers will need their account number and customer number, both found on city utility billing statements.

The kiosk accepts cash, check or credit card and payments are processed immediately. For cash payments, amounts must be paid in the exact amount; no change can be made.

Questions and requests can be sent via email to UtilityBilling@ashland.or.us, or call 541-488-6004. Customers who have emailed or called recently can expect a response by Friday. Calls and emails will be returned in the order they were received.

Please email or call only once per question or request, as multiple inquires will delay response time. If you are reaching out due to an emergency, call the number listed above.

Delinquent processing has been postponed until Sept. 20.

“Your patience and understanding are appreciated,” city officials said in the news release.
