Ashland cooling center

The National Weather Service forecasts excessive heat starting Sunday and continuing into the week.

A cooling center for anyone needing to get out of the heat will be open from noon to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 10 and 11, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 44 N. 2nd St., Ashland.

The space will be managed by local volunteers coordinated by Avram Sacks; for more information, call 541-220-7307 or email avramsacks@gmail.com.

Interested in helping? Join the volunteer orientation session from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, in the Guanajuato Room at the Ashland Public Library.
