Lola Jackson is held on $500,000 bail for various felony charges

Ashland resident Lola Jackson is scheduled to attend a hearing and pre-trial conference Monday, June 30, following a June 12 arrest where police allege she struck a pedestrian in a motorized wheelchair with her vehicle, according to an Ashland Police Department press release.
Jackson allegedly “deliberately struck” the individual at 1:30 a.m. June 7, near 615 Clay St., the release said. The victim was thrown from the wheelchair and transported to Asante Rouge Regional Medical Center (RRMC) by Ashland Fire & Rescue with non-life threatening injuries, authorities report.
The male victim reported sitting in their wheelchair at a stop sign outside the entrance to an apartment complex when Jackson instructed him to move, according to court records. The victim was stopped off to the side of the entrance but, records say, told Jackson “no.” Police allege Jackson then reversed her vehicle and drove forward, hitting the victim’s wheelchair and pushing him out of the street.
At RRMC, “it was determined his back was broken,” court documents said.
Jackson fled the scene prior to police arriving and was under an “attempt to locate” with the department until June 12, when police located and arrested her at a residence on Phelps Street, the release said.
Jackson was lodged at the Jackson County Jail and remains in custody on $500,000 bail for charges of first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, hit and run vehicle — injury felony and second-degree assault.
She was arraigned and indicted on June 18 when she was formally charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, failure to perform duties of a driver to injured persons and unlawful use of a weapon — all felony charges — to which she pleaded not guilty, according to court documents.
Jackson has several prior charges in Oregon court records, largely concerning motor vehicles. They include 2024 and 2022 charges of driving a motor vehicle while using an electronic device and a 2021 charge of violating a speed limit and failure to carry proof of compliance. She was also charged with third-degree theft and third-degree escape in 2022.
