Southern Oregon University will welcome 880 class of 2025 graduates and their family, friends and well-wishers to Raider Stadium, 378 Wightman St., Ashland, on Saturday morning for the university’s 99th Commencement ceremony.
A total of 1,056 degrees will be awarded, including 659 undergraduate degrees, 221 graduate degrees, and 176 certificates to students. SOU Provost and Executive Vice President Casey Shillam will preside over the event.
The processional begins promptly at 8:45 a.m. with the ceremony commencing at 9 a.m.
Speakers will include SOU President Rick Bailey and student speaker Parker Boom.
Sebastian Cantero, who is graduating Summa Cum Laude (at least 3.9 GPA) with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, will receive the annual Dankook Award for outstanding undergraduate student.
Matthew Havniear, graduating with a Masters of Business Administration, will receive the Guanajuato Award for outstanding graduate student.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to arrive early to find parking near the university.
