Bystander first aid training offered by Community Emergency Response Team
By Morgan Rothborne, Ashland.news
The Ashland Community Emergency Response Team will offer training on how to offer basic medical aid, including administering naloxone in case of opioid overdoses, on Wednesday evening, Feb. 12.
The training is free and open to the public starting at 6 p.m. at Ashland Fire Station No. 1 at 455 Siskiyou Blvd.
“We’ll practice the basics of hands-only CPR, preparing you to help in an emergency before EMTs arrive. We’ll also be reminded how to use splints and Narcan, and recognize and mitigate bleeding and the signs of shock,” according to an email announcing the event.
The Community Emergency Response Team offers free training and events to help anyone become more prepared for disasters and assisting their neighbors throughout the calendar year.
