Has there been a consideration of the idea of having the some of the unhoused help build the storage lockers they need?
If this was successful perhaps they could assist in building a shelter that was sufficient to house more unhoused than we currently serve. This could be an avenue to build job skills and lead to well-paid employment.
I’m sure that there are many obstacles to this idea, but enlisting help and paying a stipend for that help, makes it more a hand up than a handout.
