Pride Parade returns Saturday morning in Ashland

Playwright, actor Justin Huertas named grand marshal

Award-winning playwright Justin Huertas will be grand marshal of the 2024 Pride Parade, set to roll through downtown Ashland on Saturday, Oct. 5. The parade will make its way from Union Street to Lithia Park starting at 10 a.m. Huertas is author of the book, music and lyrics for “Lizard Boy,” in which he plays the starring role at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival through Oct. 12.

A drag show and DJ will entertain at Butler Bandshell in Lithia Park starting at 11 a.m. Lady Lucy LaVicious will emcee. Food trucks and vendors will also be on hand.

Other 2024 Pride Weekend events include 1st Friday Pride at galleries and stores in downtown Ashland starting at 4:30 p.m. 

The “Art Out Loud” art show is set for 5 to 7:30 p.m. and the “Beyond the Rainbow” drag show for 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at the Columbia Hotel, 262 E. Main St. Admission to the drag show is $10.
