Ashland man charged with shooting into vehicle at Albertson’s

A suspect accused of firing a shot into another car following a road rage encounter on Interstate 5 on Friday, Jan. 14, cooperated when he was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 18, the Ashland Police Department reported in a news release.

Isaac Gilbert, 43, of Ashland, was taken into custody on charges of unlawful use of weapon, menacing, criminal mischief in the first degree, and reckless endangerment.

Friday’s incident at around 6 p.m. ended in a confrontation in the Albertson’s parking lot, the report said. Gilbert allegedly produced a handgun and fired a shot into the victim’s vehicle.

He surrendered the handgun when arrested Tuesday, was booked into jail, and then released on bond.
