The Talent Historical Society will host an event commemorating the Almeda fire’s third anniversary from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Talent Museum, 105 N. Market St., Talent.
The main exhibit will head to the Chetco Valley Historical Society in Brookings soon after, and then to the Oregon Cultural Trust — who funded the exhibit — offices in Salem. The Talent Historical Society partnered with the Jackson County Community Long Term Recovery Group — a nonprofit offering counseling and other services to fire victims — for the event.
Local 5-piece band Rickishane and dancers from the Turning Point Dance Studio will perform throughout the day. There will also be opportunities for attendees to share their stories about the fire.
