Rogue Valley Bird Day on May 13 to focus on water, aquatic habitats

A day devoted to learning about birds that might live in your own backyard will be held 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 13, at the North Mountain Park Nature Center. 620 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland, according to a news release.

Rogue Valley Bird Day’s 2023 event will focus on water and aquatic habitats. The park is a birding hotspot with streams, ponds, and seasonal wetlands where park users can see and hear a variety of bird species in the wild.

There will be games, crafts for kids, a bird calling exhibition, contests, prizes, and a live bird exhibit hosted by Wildlife Images.

Bird walks, hosted by expert birders from the Rogue Valley Audubon Society, will be held between 8:15 and 11 a.m., leaving regularly from the Nature Center pavilion, the release said. Bird walks for Spanish speakers will also be available.
