‘Nun Better: An Amazing Love Story’ is the true story of two nuns who fell in love

The author behind the just-released book “Nun Better: An Amazing Love Story” will attend a launch event for the true story from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 24, at the Paschal Winery, 1122 Suncrest Road, Talent, according to a news release.

The book, released March 19 by Two Sisters Writing & Publishing, tells the true story of author Joanie Lindenmeyer and Carol Tierheimer. Both had served as nuns but fell in love and were together for 40 years. The couple also spent many years lobbying to get the Catholic church to allow same-sex marriage.

“I wrote this book to show that love has no boundaries,” Lindenmeyer said in the news release. “Carol went to heaven on Jan. 30, 2022, and before she died, we vowed to share our story to encourage other LGBTQ people that they can find lifelong love and friendships, and that a deep, spiritual union is a holy gift that should be cherished and celebrated.”
