DESCRIPTION:Join The Haines & Friends Visual Arts Grant Program for their Creative Awardees Celebration\, highlighting the talented individuals who received grants in 2023. Taking place for over eight years now\, the program is overwhelmed with joy as a result of awarding a total of thirty grants and distributing a total of $65\,460 in funds. \nBecause The Haines & Friends Visual Arts Grant Program supports a variety of requests\, the program believes that it is essential to distinguish the impact of funding that is distributed. Personal Development Grants assist individuals with achieving some sort of personal artistic project\, whether it be through the purchasing of supplies\, or attending classes and workshops. Education and Community Service Grants assist individuals with achieving some sort of artistic project that will benefit our community such as teaching classes and workshops\, creating public art\, and more. \nAwardees include FolkSoul Farm\, Grants Pass Museum of Art\, LIFE Art Studio & Cultural Center\, Rogue Gallery & Art Center\, Vanessa Jo Bahr\, Gabriel Barrera\, Bruce Bayard\, Alex Brehmer\, Christian Burchard\, Diane Choplin\, Dara Daniel\, Kaya Doolaege\, Laurie Gadbois\, Zion Kroll\, Kristy Kun\, Betty LaDuke\, Abby Lazerow\, Erin Linton\, Scott Malbaurn\, Ryan Moon\, Micah Ofstedahl\, Mabrie Ormes\, Xavi Panneton\, Nick Simons\, Denise Souza Finney\, Daniel Sperry\, Leif Trygg\, Peter Van Fleet\, Carole Whitridge\, and Manya Yana Orescan Campos. \nThe Creative Awardees Celebration will take place during June First Friday Art Walk on Friday\, June 7\, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 88 North Main Street in Downtown Ashland. Awardees will be present and light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.

SUMMARY:One Night Pop-Up Exhibition: Miles Frode
DESCRIPTION:Art is a crucial part of our lives\, bringing our community together physically and culturally through its ability to share relatable stories\, inspire reflection\, and form connections through engaging conversations. \nWhen The Haines & Friends Visual Arts Grant Program temporarily acquired a vacant space in Downtown Ashland\, their goal was to do just this… Collaborate with local artists to utilize the space in a creative and meaningful way by providing them with a physical space to display and sell their artwork\, as well as enhance our visual arts community as a whole. \nMiles Frode has been painting for over thirty years. For Miles\, art is a verb. He prefers not to plan anything before painting\, and instead\, intuitively selects and mixes colors\, creating marks while dancing to music to experience a larger creative atmosphere. When forming a composition\, oftentimes\, Miles regularly rotates to different paintings\, purposefully allowing mistakes and covering previous compositions with new ones. From intricate paintings to complex illustrations\, each artwork has been crafted with meticulous attention to detail\, offering viewers a glimpse into the vast imaginations of our members. \nThe 8×8 at 88 Fundraiser will serve as a fundraising initiative to support future programming and operations for the Ashland Gallery Association.
