SUMMARY:Thursday Evening Calm Abiding Meditaion
DESCRIPTION:This meditation is common to many traditions of Buddhism. In this practice\, we rest our attention on a simple meditative support\, such as the breath. Instead of following thoughts and emotions as we usually do\, we release them and maintain our connection to the support. \n“From this practice\, we can experience a stable and calm mind. We learn to maintain and return to a sense of stillness\, no matter what our outer circumstances. The mind is relaxed\, alert and aware. The results of this practice are serenity\, freedom in the face of circumstances\, and ultimately Buddhahood.” \nFrom Meditation for Beginners\, by Bokar Rinpoche. \nTo attend Calm Abiding Meditation via Zoom\, email the office at OFFICE@KSCASHLAND.ORG to join the mailing list. \n

SUMMARY:ART ON FIRST: An Artful Life\, Solo Exhibition John Palombo
DESCRIPTION:Currently featured at ART on FIRST are nature inspired paintings by John Palombo. With just enough challenges growing up to gain some deep colors and spectrums in his life\, John has made use of the follies and torture of being human and turned them into joy and happiness by finding something that truly speaks to his soul – visiting remote natural areas and painting. \nJohn loves color and creating color. His focus has always been on landscapes of Southern Oregon\, particularly Southeastern Oregon. When creating a composition\, John’s interest is to translate the magic that he sees in the world and in nature onto his surface. With this\, he hopes to inspire his viewers to find the same magic\, or something that is personal to just them. \nFor more information\, please visit www.artonfirstashland.com. \nMonday\, March 31 – Monday\, April 28\, 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. \nOpening Reception: Friday\, April 4\, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

SUMMARY:AJ Lee and Blue Summit presented by the Ashland Folk Collective
DESCRIPTION:Doors 6:00pm | Show 7:00-10:00pm \n$30 online $35 at the door \nAJ Lee & Blue Summit \nAJ Lee & Blue Summit are an award-winning energetic\, charming\, and technically jaw-dropping band quickly rising on the national roots music scene. Based in Santa Cruz\, California\, the group met as teenagers\, picking and jamming together as kids at local music festivals and jams until one day\, they decided they would be a band. \n“Our roots go really deep\,” explains de facto band leader Lee. “We met when we were young kids… We definitely decided to choose each other as a chosen family band later on in life\, but in a lot of ways it was naturally just like that in the beginning.” \n“It was like one of those late at night things\,” she continued. “We were sitting on a trailer at Grass Valley” at the annual Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival held in the Sierra Nevada foothills – “Someone said\, ‘All of us right here\, we’re a band now.’ We kind of didn’t take it seriously\, but we were like\, okay\, we’ll be a band!”

SUMMARY:Pigs on the Wing: Echoes of Pink Floyd tour
DESCRIPTION:Pigs on the Wing’s 2024-2025 tour\, “Echoes of Pink Floyd”\, is a second act to the band’s previous year’s tour. As before\, the Echoes of Pink Floyd tour will feature a new selection of the very best of classic-era Pink Floyd cuts organized into 2 distinct sets. Rather than performing a single album from start to end\, expect to hear the band focus on their favorite sections of the classic albums\, including hits\, deep cuts\, and the band’s trademark willingness to explore the sonic space in experimental improvisation. Fans can expect an immersive visual show in a don’t-miss event for any Pink Floyd fan! \nFrom its garage-rock roots in 2006 as a one-off show\, to full-album productions and performances for thousands of fans each year\, Portland\, Oregon-based Pigs on the Wing have built a loyal following dedicated to the band’s high-energy take on Pink Floyd’s music. All members of Pigs on the Wing are seasoned veterans of the Pacific NW rock scene and are unapologetic in bringing their wide-ranging musical influences to the table. Setting the band aside from other tribute-rock acts\, Pigs on the Wing balance a decidedly un-tribute-like attitude towards the music with the precision and authenticity expected by Pink Floyd fans. \nAmongst the band’s accomplishments\, Pigs on the Wing has in recent years featured full album performances of The Dark Side of the Moon\, Wish You Were Here\, Animals\, and The Wall and was recently ranked the #4 Pink Floyd tribute worldwide. None are bigger fans of the work of Pink Floyd than the members of Pigs on the Wing themselves\, and the band takes their role as stewards of the music seriously – something immediately evident in the bands’ immersive performances. \nSaturday\, April 26th 2025\nPigs on the Wing: Echoes of Pink Floyd tour\nRogue Theatre – Grants Pass\, OR\n7:00 pm doors / 8:00 pm show\n$35 adv / 21+ / GA / two sets

SUMMARY:Calm Abiding Sunday - Meditation & Teaching with Lama Pema
DESCRIPTION:Join Lama Pema for a guided Calm Abiding Meditation\, followed by a tea break and teaching. All are welcome. One Sunday each month\, from 9:00 to 11:30 am. \nIn this practice\, we rest our attention on a simple meditative support\, such as the breath. The results of this practice are serenity\, freedom in the face of circumstances\, and ultimately Buddhahood.” From Meditation for Beginners\, by Bokar Rinpoche \nPlease contact the office to receive our monthly emails and the Zoom link for this practice: OFFICE@KSCASHLAND.ORG

SUMMARY:Sunday Service: The Great Cycle
DESCRIPTION:We experience so many things in cycles. The seasons\, the weeks\, the days and nights\, the tides…We talk about the life cycle of insects and animals and sometimes even about human beings.
