SUMMARY:Love Always Wins: Author Talk with Joanie Lindenmeyer
DESCRIPTION:Joanie Lindenmeyer has achieved the great accomplishment of writing 3 books in two years – and a theme that spans all three of them is “Love Always Wins.” \nIn this presentation Lindenmeyer will touch on all 3 of her books\, but will be focusing mostly on her second book\, Joyously Free. This book aims to encourage LBGTQ+ people to find courage to live their truths\, and the book provides solid guidance for parents and allies to love and support individuals on their rainbow journeys. \nThis presentation will include readings\, discussions\, and a Q&A. At the end of the program patrons will be given the opportunity to purchase copies of Lindenmeyer’s works. Copies will also be available in the collection for checkout. Patrons will also leave with a sense of joy and positivity from Lindenmeyer’s infectious positive energy. \nJoanie Lindemeyer is 66 years young\, a former Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet Catholic nun who is now an Episcopalian with St. Timothy’s. Joanie serves on the church vestry and in the local community in many ways that include speaking about and promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion.

SUMMARY:Sunday Service: Boundaries\, Limits\, and Safeguards
DESCRIPTION:When Unitarian Universalists speak of being centered in Love\, what does that mean? How do we embody Love that protects the vulnerable\, demands justice\, and doesn’t surrender to bullies or the fear they spread? Rev. Sean explores ways we can strengthen our image of Love to include this kind of strength? \nMonthly Theme: Anger \n“When we fail to set boundaries and hold people accountable\, we feel used and mistreated. This is why we sometimes attack who they are\, which is far more hurtful than addressing a behavior or a choice.” ― Brené Brown\, The Gifts of Imperfection” \nAttend in person or watch live or recorded on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@roguevalleyunitarianuniver8871

DESCRIPTION:Now is the time for heroes. It is not a mistake that you have been born during these troubling times. \nWe are all here at this time\, on this planet\, during this climate crisis to be Earth Caretakers. Through nature teachings\, personal storytelling\, and suggested hands-on actions\, Tim Corcoran inspires us to interact with our environment and build a personal relationship with nature. Allowing us to walk backwards into the future and remember what we already know. \nLearn\, practice and experience through the 4 parts within this book: \nNature Awareness: Awaken your senses and welcome the wild in. Build your personal relationship with nature by rewilding your heart. \nWilderness Living Skills: Build your nature awareness and reconnect with your Earth through engaging with its natural resources. \nEarth Philosophy: Bridging our nature awareness and physical skills with the language of the Earth – Connecting with nature through heart. \nA Life of Service: Build upon your awareness and values and physically set into motion being of service in every aspect of your life. This is who you are\, an Earth Caretaker. \nThis is more than just a book. This is a movement. A portion of every book sale will go towards The Earth Caretaker Way movement

SUMMARY:Thursday Evening Calm Abiding Meditaion
DESCRIPTION:This meditation is common to many traditions of Buddhism. In this practice\, we rest our attention on a simple meditative support\, such as the breath. Instead of following thoughts and emotions as we usually do\, we release them and maintain our connection to the support. \n“From this practice\, we can experience a stable and calm mind. We learn to maintain and return to a sense of stillness\, no matter what our outer circumstances. The mind is relaxed\, alert and aware. The results of this practice are serenity\, freedom in the face of circumstances\, and ultimately Buddhahood.” \nFrom Meditation for Beginners\, by Bokar Rinpoche. \nTo attend Calm Abiding Meditation via Zoom\, email the office at OFFICE@KSCASHLAND.ORG to join the mailing list. \n
