SUMMARY:Heather Ames talks about her books: Tapped by Fate and Tread Softly – the Ghost Shop Series
DESCRIPTION:Heather Ames will give an author talk from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday\, Sept. 25\, at Bloomsbury Books\, 290 E. Main St.\, Ashland. \nHeather will talk about the joys and tribulations of her publishing journey\, finding the silver lining that became self-publishing\, and how taking charge of her own future in the publishing industry has been at times fulfilling\, aggravating\, frustrating\, enlightening\, and so much more. \nThe Ghost Shop series\, set in Salem and Oregon’s Willamette Valley\, combines mystery with a paranormal twist and is Heather’s cozy series. In Book 1\, a father\, convinced his daughter’s drowning was no accident\, teams up with a reluctant psychic\, her enigmatic\, fortune-telling assistant\, a gargoyle that’s more animal than mineral\, and a questionably-human winery owner to find and bring her killer to justice. \nEach book is set in a different town within driving distance of Salem and features another difficult cold case for the sleuths to solve.

SUMMARY:Awakening Connection After Covid: Introducing "The Sanity Project" with Zoe Alowan & Bill Kauth
DESCRIPTION:The residue from the years of lockdown and crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic is apparent to everyone. Many friends and families have been torn apart. Trust in corporations and the government has declined. The New Normal seems extremely polarized\, alienated and even crazy. Where do we look to find honest connection\, clarity and support? \nOur friend\, Charles Eisenstein\, has launched what he is calling “The Sanity Project.” He says\, “sanity is a group project.” \nAs he puts it “I’m not made of different stuff than anyone else. I can’t stay sane on my own.” \nHis program is about summoning “islands of sanity\,” as “incubators of sanity for coming times.” This is deep core community building. \nIn 2013 Charles Eisenstein published his book\, “The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know is Possible.” This inspired our last decade of community building\, and our book “We Need Each Other.” Now\, in this time\, we really do need each other to keep centered and sane\, even in the midst of hysteria\, personal and global. \nMay this presentation offer something beautiful\, right here in Ashland\, Oregon\, that our hearts know is possible. Each of us may find a purposeful role to play in this New and Ancient Story and community challenge. We invite you to join us. \nCommunity builders\, co-authors of “We Need Each Other” and leaders of live and online courses. Zoe as sacred artist uses painting\, dancing\, singing in women’s circles to reclaim beauty and wisdom. Bill as cofounder of The ManKind Project and author of A Circle of Men\, has helped launch men’s work into the world.\nMore Info: https://charleseisenstein.substack.com/p/the-sanity-project \nFree admission – 1757 Ashland St.\, Ashland\, OR.
