You will find parking on Main Street\, along neighborhood streets\, and in the Umpqua Bank and Civic Center lots. Be prepared to walk a block or two\n* Vendors are unable to accept payment for other vendors – please pay for plants in the space they are in.\n* Not all vendors take credit cards. Offering a wide variety of species from various habitat types throughout the region\, KSNS helps you increase native plants and pollinators on your land and in your garden. KSNS has a wide selection of potted native plants ready for planting or shop for native seeds online. KSNS seed packets are shipped to you via USPS from our off-grid homestead at the headwaters of the Applegate River. \nCornucopia Acres\, located in Grants Pass\, grows plants 100% native to the Pacific Northwest using organic soil and practices. In addition to growing starts in the Spring\, they also sell bareroots\, bulbs\, and meadow mixes in the Fall. \nKlamath Native Plant Nursery\, located in Ashland\, grows a small number of native plant species\, including drought-tolerant shrubs and trees. \nWhite Oak Farm & Education Center\, located in Williams\, is a non-profit farm-based nursery and education center dedicated to cultivating connections between people and their local ecosystems by pursuing community food security\, fostering agricultural and ecological diversity\, and teaching the arts of sustainable living. \nPollinator Project Rogue Valley is a volunteer-led Oregon-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit concerned about the health of our native pollinators and plant communities. We offer multiple programs to help realize our goal to increase\, protect\, and steward native plants for native pollinators. Our Growing Gardens for Pollinators program encompasses our on-site nursery where we propagate native plants to share with the community through donations and plant sales. Seed is packaged and sold\, or donated to schools\, community gardens\, and other community partners. \nWe believe everyone can make a difference in ‘saving the bees’ – simply by planting a native plant pollinator garden!

SUMMARY:Beekman Bank Museum tours
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to “Step Behind the Counter” of the oldest financial institution in the Pacific Northwest—Jacksonville’s 1863 Beekman Bank Museum—when Historic Jacksonville\, Inc. opens the museum for summer tours. \nEstablished as a “gold dust” office in 1856\, it was the first “bank” north of San Francisco. \nScheduled 2025 “banking hours” are 11am to 3 pm\, Saturdays and Sundays\, from May 24 through August 31. The Beekman Bank Museum is located at 110 W. California Street (the corner of California and North 3rd streets) in Jacksonville. Guests can interact with costumed docents sharing stories of late 19th Century banking practices\, gold shipping\, and handshake deals; step behind the counter and peer in drawers containing old checks\, stage schedules\, and paperwork; and enter the vault that stored millions in gold! \nVisitors can spend as much or as little time as they like—although we suggest they allow at least 30 minutes. Tours are FREE\, but donations are encouraged since all monies go towards the preservation and maintenance of this historic legacy! \nThe original bank was established in 1856 as a “gold dust” office. (If we’re factual\, it was a safe.) Cornelius Beekman had come to Jacksonville in 1854 as an express rider between Yreka and Jacksonville carrying newspaper\, mail\, parcels\, and gold over the Siskiyous. When his employer’s firm failed\, he established Jacksonville’s Beekman’s Express and his gold dust office. In 1863 he became Jacksonville’s Wells Fargo agent and constructed the Beekman Bank. \nDuring Jacksonville’s heyday as the governmental\, commercial\, and social hub of Southern Oregon in the late 1800s\, the Beekman’s Bank saw over $40 million in gold cross its counters—equivalent to over $1 billion today! The current 1863 structure is the only commercial wooden building on California Streeet to survive Jacksonville’s many fires. It has been preserved intact as a museum since Cornelius Beekman\, the wealthiest and most prominent of Jacksonville’s pioneers\, locked the doors in 1915. \nAdditional information is available at 541-245-3650; info@historicjacksonville.org; and www.historicjacksonville.org/behind-the-counter/.

SUMMARY:Chamber Music Concerts Presents the Dover Quartet
DESCRIPTION:“From start to finish\, everything was absolutely flawless…The Dover Quartet could play anything for us\, and we would ask for more…An amazing\, beautiful quartet.” La Presse \nChamber Music Concerts (CMC) opens its 2025-26 season with the Dover String Quartet on Sunday\, October 12th at 3pm at the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall\, 450 S Mountain Ave\, Ashland\, OR. Purchase tickets at ChamberMusicConcerts.org or call 541-552-6154. \nCMC’s longtime audience members have been treated to the Dover Quartet many times — it’s one of the most lauded and respected ensembles in the world. Twice nominated for a GRAMMY Award\, the Dover dwell in rarified air\, but one of their members is an Ashland native: cellist Camden Shaw was born and raised in Ashland\, and from the throng of former teachers\, friends\, and family who come to the quartet’s concerts to see him\, he’s clearly become a bit of a celebrity over the years. \nNamed one of the greatest string quartets of the last 100 years by BBC Music Magazine and “the next Guarneri Quartet” by the Chicago Tribune\, the two-time GRAMMY-nominated Dover Quartet is one of the world’s most in-demand chamber ensembles. The group’s awards include a stunning sweep of all prizes at the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition\, grand and first prizes at the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition\, and prizes at the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition. Its honors include the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant\, Chamber Music America’s Cleveland Quartet Award\, and Lincoln Center’s Hunt Family Award. The Dover Quartet is the Penelope P. Watkins Ensemble in Residence at the Curtis Institute of Music and Quartet in Residence at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music. \nThe Dover members studied at the Curtis Institute of Music\, Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music\, the New England Conservatory\, and the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. Formed at Curtis in 2008\, its name pays tribute to Dover Beach by fellow Curtis alumnus Samuel Barber. \nThe concert program features Jessie Montgomery’s Strum; Karol Szymanowski’s Quartet no. 1 in C Major\, Op. 37; and Felix Mendelssohn’s Quartet no. 6 in F Minor\, Op. 80. \nTickets are $49/59\, with discounts available for full-time students and Oregon Trail Card holders. Purchase online at ChamberMusicConcerts.org or by calling 541-552-6154. Don’t miss the free pre-concert lecture at 2pm.

SUMMARY:Glenn Hill talks about his new Ghostly Ashland Shakespeare Mystery – “The Devil Wore White”
DESCRIPTION:A spring wedding in Ashland’s flower-filled Lithia Park should be a dream come true. \nBut when the radiant bride plunges to her death from the 9th-story window of the historic and haunted Globe Springs Hotel\, the celebration turns chillingly tragic.\nWas it an accident\, or something darker blooming beneath the surface? \nFormer antiquities inspector William Mills and his spirited partner Carol Lindsey\, with the aid of Dante the ghost cat\, are swept into a mystery that winds through heirloom secrets\, suspicious relatives\, and a controversial exhibit of ancient Egyptian and Biblical artifacts. One centerpiece—a gold and gemstone necklace said to carry a deadly curse—seems to be waking something long dormant within the hotel’s walls. \nWith the ghostly Blue Lady whispering warnings\, and the hotel’s shadowed past refusing to stay buried\, William and Carol must untangle a ritual half-forgotten and a legacy someone will kill to protect. \nSecrets blossom\, ghosts stir\, and danger blooms in the quaint Shakespearean town of Ashland\, Oregon.

SUMMARY:Thursday Evening Calm Abiding Meditaion
DESCRIPTION:This meditation is common to many traditions of Buddhism. In this practice\, we rest our attention on a simple meditative support\, such as the breath. Instead of following thoughts and emotions as we usually do\, we release them and maintain our connection to the support. \n“From this practice\, we can experience a stable and calm mind. We learn to maintain and return to a sense of stillness\, no matter what our outer circumstances. The mind is relaxed\, alert and aware. The results of this practice are serenity\, freedom in the face of circumstances\, and ultimately Buddhahood.” \nFrom Meditation for Beginners\, by Bokar Rinpoche. \nTo attend Calm Abiding Meditation via Zoom\, email the office at OFFICE@KSCASHLAND.ORG to join the mailing list. \n
