Working mainly with acrylics\, Martina captures visual aspects of landscapes in Mexico combined with a Northern European spirit\, taking her expression beyond the limits of her viewers’ eyes. Using just a few visual elements and a limited palette\, Martina’s paintings are often dramatically contrasted but also subtly blended\, which is her way of interpreting the essence and mood of her compositions\, always aiming to evoke in her viewers an inner landscape. DESCRIPTION:Develop a closer connection with nature through observation\, curiosity\, and art. \nA nature journal is a mix between a sketchbook and a diary that helps to focus your attention and enrich your experiences. Nature journaling is easy to begin and learn\, and fun and fascinating to develop over a lifetime. Participants will learn and practice skills to view and sketch the plants and animals commonly encountered in our region\, along with some guidance on how to start and keep your own nature journal. The series will take place every other week and culminate in an outing to a local park where attendees will have the opportunity to practice their skills in the wild. \nAdvance reservation is appreciated\, but not required\, though attendance will be capped at twenty attendees. DESCRIPTION:The Guitar Society of Southern Oregon meets from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month in the beautiful tasting room of Paschal Winery in Talent. \nThe gatherings are open to the public\, and all are welcome. They start with a set of music by volunteer performers\, followed by an intermission to socialize and to discuss Society business and upcoming guitar-related events. The evening concludes with a second set of music\, sometimes performed by visiting or local featured artists. \nThe meeting program includes a wide variety of selections\, performed mostly on guitar\, and some vocal by amateurs\, students and professionals. Anyone may announce upcoming events during the intermission as well.
