SUMMARY:Rainbow Girls presented by the Ashland Folk Collective
DESCRIPTION:In a world where the line between the living and the dead blurs… \nThis fall\, prepare yourself for a Rainbow Girls show like no other. As the lights dim\, and the fog rolls in\, you’ll step into a realm where shadows dance\, and whispers echo through the night. Welcome to the “Haunting” album release tour—a spine-tingling journey into the unknown. Feel the chill as each note reverberates through the darkness\, see the spectral visions come to life on stage\, and as the music swells\, you’ll find yourself drawn deeper into the abyss. But beware—once you enter\, you may never leave. This isn’t just a show… it’s a journey into the unknown\, where every song beckons you deeper into the shadows. \nKing Dream \nKing Dream is a Bay Area rock ‘n’ roll band helmed by Oakland native Jeremy Lyon\, a lifelong songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who crafts dive bar anthems with heart\, brains and soul. Hard-rocking yet poignant\, his music combines a love for American rock masters like Springsteen and Petty with ‘60s West Coast psychedelia and more contemporary torch-bearers like My Morning Jacket and The War on Drugs — all brought to life by a band of Northern California’s most in-demand players.

Orphic means “beyond ordinary\,” a phrase that characterizes the ensemble and its mission: to commission and premiere new works by today’s most compelling composers; to broaden the audience for contemporary music; and to present concerts that are vibrantly communicative\, musically expressive\, and inspiringly virtuosic—or\, quite simply—extraordinary. \nThe quartet\, formed in 2017\, has gained notoriety both stateside and abroad. Having presented multiple tours in the United States\, as well as tours in both Germany and Austria\, Orphic continues its mission of commissioning new works for Percussion Quartet. To date\, the ensemble has over thirty original compositions to their commissioning credit. \nOrphic’s recent highlights include recital tours in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest\, the world premiere of Stefan Cwik’s Relics: Dances for Percussion Quartet and Orchestra with San Francisco’s Symphony Parnassus (nominated by the San Francisco Classical Voice for “Best New Music Performance” of the 2017-18 season)\, university residencies at Southern Nazarene University (OK) and George Fox University (OR)\, and a return engagement at the Arcata Playhouse (CA). In addition\, Orphic has been self-producing an ongoing concert series at University Presbyterian Church (CA) since early 2017\, and maintains a close relationship with the Nevada County Composer’s Cooperative\, having premiered works by Alexis Alrich\, Mark Vance\, and Durwynne Hsieh. \nOrphic will perform their flagship show\, Orphic: Unheard\, featuring a presentation of works commissioned by the ensemble. Covering a variety of genres and instrumentation\, the program seeks to expose the listener to sounds that are sure to fascinate the senses. Works by Dave Maric\, Kenneth Froelich\, Shaun Tilburg\, Bryce Cannell\, and Alejandro Viñao. \nOrphic’s upcoming engagements include the group’s international debut at the 2019 Day of Percussion in Nuremberg\, Germany\, an appearance on San Francisco’s Old First Concert Series\, a residency with the composition department at Las Positas College\, and a recital tour of the southern United States. \nOrphic Percussion is sponsored by Marimba One\, Black Swamp Percussion\, and Beetle Percussion.
