DESCRIPTION:The city of Ashland cooling center in its severe weather shelter at 2200 Ashland St. will be open from noon to 7 p.m.\nSpace is limited. This is a low-barrier\, no frills\, cooling center — a safe and clean space with access to cool water and restrooms. The center is staffed at all times by volunteers.\nDuring hot weather\, people should drink plenty of fluids\, stay in an air-conditioned room if possible\, avoid direct sunlight\, check on relatives and neighbors\, and monitor the latest forecasts and warnings at forecast.weather.gov.\nIn addition to the severe weather shelter\, the Ashland Public Library at 410 Siskiyou Blvd. is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursdays\, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.\nCool off in a City Park\nAshland also offers 19 parks and over 600 acres of open space with shady spots and water activities:\n-Swim Reservoir in Lithia Park: Fed by Ashland Creek.\n-Wading Area in Lithia Park: Near the children’s playground.\n-Splash Pad at Garfield Park: Open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.\n-Daniel Meyer Memorial Pool in Hunter Park: Check hours at ashlandoregon.gov/Swim
