SUMMARY:FOTAS low-cost drive-thru pet vaccination and chip clinic
DESCRIPTION:Friends of the Animals will host a low-cost\, drive-thru dog and cat vaccination and microchip clinic is Saturday\, June 15. \nThe clinic is by appointment only and can be made online at www.calendly.com/fotas. The location will be provided when owners register their pet(s). \nScheduled one time slot for each pet. Cats must arrive in secure carriers\, one cat per carrier. Dogs must wear a collar and have a leash attached at all times. Please arrive on time. Pets who are ill\, on antibiotics\, in heat\, or on cortisone products cannot be vaccinated. \nAll the vaccines offered are $20 per pet. Vaccines available for dogs are rabies and the vaccine for distemper\, adenovirus type 2\, parainfluenza\, and the parvovirus. The FVRCP vaccine available for cats is for Panleukopenia (feline distemper)\, Rhinotracheitis\, and Calici Virus. Payment by cash or card is accepted. No checks will be accepted. \nMicrochips are $25 per pet. These are a permanent form of identification that is injected under the skin between the shoulder blades of the pet. After the owner registers the chip with their personal contact information\, the chip can be scanned by veterinarians and shelters to enable a lost pet to be returned quickly and safely. \n

DESCRIPTION:A 2-day Pickleball Round Robin Fundraiser event will be held at Ashland’s Lithia Park PB courts. \nAdults\, 18 and older\, can sign up in Playtime Scheduler and make a donation to Ashland Parks Foundation Pickleball. This PB event is organized by Ashland Oregon Pickleball Club (AOPC)\, and donations will be used to help offset the costs associated with Ashland public park court maintenance\, repair\, and equipment. \nCurrently\, the courts in Lithia Park are in need of crack repair. SUMMARY:Saturday Hike - Aquatic Habitats & Species of the Monument
DESCRIPTION:We will meet at 9:00 AM at the Rite Aid in Ashland and make our way into the Monument from there. Carpooling is optional. \nLearn about the fascinating world beneath the surface of the creeks and streams of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument! Chris Volpe\, Medford District BLM fish biologist\, will take us on a journey to understand the Monument’s watersheds\, the different kinds of aquatic habitats found there\, and the species that call those habitats home. We will also discuss the challenges the watersheds currently face and how we can improve their condition and resilience. \nThe Saturday Hike we will explore aquatic habitats in the Monument\, such as Jenny Creek and areas that have undergone restoration. \nChris Volpe is the Medford District and Ashland Field Office Fish Biologist. He has been with the BLM for 22 years and spent another four years in the Rogue Basin prior to that collecting fish and habitat data with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. Chris has been involved with monitoring\, research\, and restoration of aquatic species and habitats in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument for most of his career. \nThe Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument’s mission is to support the protection\, restoration and conservation of the Monument through service\, advocacy and education. Our Hike and Learn programs are designed to introduce the public to different topics and locations within the Monument. Hike and Learns are co-created with local scientists\, historians\, artists\, students\, and more.
