SUMMARY:Free Program: The Watermaster's Quilt
DESCRIPTION:As a genealogist you are probably asking yourself\, “Why would I want to hear a talk about a Watermaster’s Quilt? What do quilts or water law have to do with finding and knowing about my ancestors?” \nIf you are a quilter\, you are probably thinking\, “What do quilts have to do with either genealogy and/or state laws about using water?” Come to the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society on May 30\, 2024\, at 1:30 PM\, and Sue Waldron will answer those questions and share how she used a quilt as a memory tool. \nSue Waldron worked in the Jackson County Watermaster’s Office for eighteen years. She will explain about some of the documents created and maintained by the Oregon Water Resources Department and the Watermaster’s Office that might pinpoint where your ancestors lived and how they used their land. She will also suggest a way to use your creativity to enhance your workspace. \nCost: Free for all.\nNo registration required.\nIn person only at RVGS Library. This program will NOT be recorded.\nRVGS Library\n3405 S. Pacific Hwy Medford\, OR\n541-512-2340
