SUMMARY:Gentle Yoga for Older Adults
DESCRIPTION:The focus of this one-hour hatha yoga class is to increase strength\, flexibility and balance while simultaneously alleviating stress and fatigue.  Additional benefits of regular yoga practice include an overall sense of well-being and an increase in self-awareness and self-acceptance.  Participants must be aware of their own capabilities in order to participate safely.  Ability to get up and down from the floor is required.  Each class will conclude with deep relaxation. Ages 50 & up. \n$20 per month-long session ($5/class)

DESCRIPTION:A community event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr. will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday\, Jan. 15\, at the Historic Ashland Armory\, 208 Oak St.\, Ashland. \nThe event is free and open to the public. The doors open at 11:30 a.m. \nCome celebrate Dr. King’s legacy. Seating is limited and available on a first come\, first served basis. The event and online simulcast will be sign language-interpreted. The celebration’s theme will be “We Choose Love! Now more than ever\, the dream must continue.” \nHistorian\, educator\, and longtime event host D.L. Richardson will deliver the keynote speech\, with additional messages from area faith leaders. There will be performances by the Ashland School District middle school choir\, the Rogue Valley Peace Choir\, and BASE Youth Dancers.
