DESCRIPTION:Dr. Margaret Evans will present an organ recital entitled “Musical Delights” at 2 p.m. Friday\, Aug. 25\, at the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall\, 450 S. Mountain Ave.\, Ashland. \nThe program will include works by Swann\, Handel\, Bach\, Schumann\, Widor\, and Ives. This concert is free and open to the public. \nFree livestream: https://youtube.com/live/-cEsIsNOhYw?feature=share \nDr. Cynthia Hutton\, SOU Music Professor Emerita and French horn player\, will be her special guest on the program. \nDr. Margaret Evans received her degrees from Chatham University\, the University of Michigan\, and the Eastman School of Music (the University of Rochester)\, where she also earned the Performer’s Certificate. She has played recitals throughout this country. \nFor Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at SOU\, she teaches music classes\, is editor of the course catalog\, and chairs the Communications and Community Outreach Committee. She currently serves as Dean of the Southern Oregon Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and is a trustee of the Southern Oregon University Foundation. \nSpecial guest Dr. Cynthia Hutton is an SOU Emeritus faculty member who taught band\, aural skills\, and music education at SOU. Her degrees are from California State University\, Fullerton; University of California\, San Diego; and the University of Colorado. She is currently the music director and conductor of the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon and Youth Orchestra of Southern Oregon. She performs with the Rogue Valley Symphony\, Ashland City Band\, Rogue Valley Brass Quintet\, and the Rogue Valley Wind Quintet. She teaches for OLLI at SOU\, and is a specialist in music by women composers.

DESCRIPTION:Terry Robb is an acclaimed fingerstyle guitarist\, singer\, composer\, arranger and record producer. \nHis work is featured in Hollywood films\, documentaries and biographies\, such as “Game of Thrones\,” “The Horse Whisperer\,” and “Dance of Death: The Life of John Fahey\, American Guitarist.” \nHe is associated with the American Primitive Guitar genre through his collaborations with Fahey\, and is regarded as a virtuoso of acoustic blues guitar.
