DESCRIPTION:Ashland residents who have ever wanted to meet their city manager and various city council members will soon be able to do so over a cup of coffee. \nThe first informal “Coffee & Conversations” event will be held 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday\, July 25\, at Pony Espresso\, 175 Lithia Way\, Ashland\, according to a news release. Two additional events follow during the same time frame: \n\nTuesday\, Sept. 26\, at Rogue Valley Roasting Company\, 917 E. Main St\, Ashland\n\nTuesday\, Nov. 14\, at Case Coffee\, 1255 Siskiyou Blvd.\, Ashland\n\n“The conversations will be casual and there will not be an agenda\,” the release said. “The City looks forward to connecting with you\, because in Ashland\, we are better together.” \n

DESCRIPTION:Sharing his more than three decades of research into the afterlife and paranormal phenomena\, award-winning documentary filmmaker Daniel Drasin will present his new book\, “A New Science of the Afterlife.” He argues persuasively that the continuity of human consciousness beyond the physical body and after death constitutes a legitimate area of scientific inquiry and that it can be objectively demonstrated. He will also show excerpts from his documentaries about physical mediumship and afterlife communication via modern electronics. \nDaniel Drasin is a writer\, media producer and pioneering documentary filmmaker. His groundbreaking 1961 documentary “SUNDAY” is part of the permanent collection at New York’s Museum of Modern Art\, and is still in demand at international film festivals.
