SUMMARY:Repertory Sings to perform two world premieres at “Rivers of Light” concert
DESCRIPTION:Southern Oregon Repertory Singers will perform “Rivers of Light\,” a concert of newly-composed choral music at 7:30 p.m. Saturday\, May 13 at and 3 p.m. Sunday\, May 14 in the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall\, 450 S. Mountain Avenue\, Ashland. \nThis concert is 2023’s offering of the The James M. Collier First Light Festival\, dedicated to performing new choral works. Two commissioned world premieres for choir and orchestra highlight the festival: “m=pV” by English composer Will Todd\, and “The Kiss of Peace” by Repertory Singers Composer-in-Residence\, Jodi French. According to Music Director\, Dr. Paul French\, “The concert will explore themes of beauty\, mystery\, and harmony; harmony in the natural world\, and harmony between people.”
