DESCRIPTION:Rogue Valley Food System Network (RVFSN) and partners are excited to announce the Rogue Valley Community Food Solutions Summit on March 16 for an all day gathering\, 9 a.m. to 4:30pm\, at the Southern Oregon Research and Extension Center! \nThe Food Solutions Summit will kick-off a year-long effort resulting in an updated Jackson County Community Food Assessment last done in 2013. The Summit provides a forum for anyone involved in food systems work in the Rogue Valley and surrounding area to contribute in a meaningful way to the Rogue Valley Food Assessment process by sharing your knowledge\, expertise\, and vision for the future of food and farm systems \nJoin your colleagues for an engaging day of building relationships\, networking\, identifying key gaps and challenges\, celebrating successes and identifying next steps as we collectively write the story of the state of the RV Food System.\nCost: $45\, $40 for existing Rogue Valley Food System Network members \nLight breakfast\, lunch\, and coffee are included. SUMMARY:Ashland.news to host "Storm Lake" screening
DESCRIPTION:Ashland.news will host a screening of “Storm Lake” on at 5 p.m. Thursday\, March 16\, in the SOU Science Building auditorium. Film producer and co-director Beth Levison\, who was nominated for an Academy Award this year for “The Martha Mitchell Effect\,” will join the audience by Zoom for a follow-up discussion. \nOf the film\, the Boston Globe said this “warm and biting profile of the editorial team that puts out The Storm Lake Times stirs up hope that small local newspapers\, and journalism itself\, can survive.” \nThere is no entry fee for Thursday’s screening\, but optional donations of $20 will be appreciated. Also\, attendees are encouraged to RSVP by clicking here. (There is no cost to RSVP.)
