SUMMARY:Ashland High School to present final performances of "Once Upon A Mattress"
DESCRIPTION:Ashland High School will conclude its series of “Once Upon A Mattress” performances with two more weekend shows at the Mountain Avenue Theater\, 201 S. Mountain Ave. \nThere will be a 7:30 p.m. performance on Saturday\, March 11\, followed by a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday\, March 12. It will wrap up an eight-show series that kicked off March 3. \nThe play was written as a humorous adaptation of the 1835 Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea.” In 1959\, the Tony-nominated musical marked the Broadway debut of stage and TV star Carol Burnett\, who starred as Princess Winnifred. The 1996 Broadway revival featured Sarah Jessica Parker in the main role. \nWith music by Mary Rodgers\, lyrics by Marshall Barer\, and book by Jay Thompson\, Dean Fuller\, and Marshall Barer\, the play is presented through special arrangement with Concord Theatricals. \nTickets are $15 for students under 18 and for attendees 65 and older. All other tickets cost $20. They are sold online at Ashlandhs.booktix.com.
